Antoine Montagnon Rouen Vases Hand Painted with Cherub Scene and Dragon Handles Pair

Faience vases feature Rouen hand painted decoration throughout and are from Nevers in Northern France. Both vases feature cherubs in the hand painted body scene and castles on the necks. One features cherubs enjoying the garden; the other has cherubs playing with their bird while a kite flies in the background. Each vase is painted a deep blue with accent colors of yellows, oranges, light blues and greens. These colors and the beautiful motifs are typical of the Rouen ornamentation. The handles are delicately painted winged dragons. Signed A. Montagnon with traditional Bow hallmark, a characteristic illustration of fine French pottery by the Antoine Montagnon Factory.
