Singly or staged in groups, silver lends both elegance and charm. Vintage and antique silver and silver plate accessories add light and warmth to any room. Whether displayed or used, their craftsmanship and beauty immediately catch the eye.
Antique silver pieces made by craftsmen typically increase in value and are cherished heirlooms of the past, often treasured for generations. Less expensive but equally well-crafted, silverplate pieces often show their wear with age and develop a special patina where loving hands have cared for them. To clean or not clean antiques is a tricky question: because they were made for a different era, we all need to be very careful about how we treat these lovely old pieces. We don’t want to rob them of their beauty and character, or diminish their value!
Wouldn't you love to serve your guests with this beautiful antique serving tray?
The Malmaison pattern large silver plated oval tray with two handles ideal for beverage service or tray-passed appetizers at any event. The name is a nod to the Chateau de la Malmaison, a favored Parisian residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine. This is one of Christofle's most historic patterns. It typifies the Empire style with its symmetrical design and frieze of palm and lotus leaves.
The bottom edge has the Christofle stamp. Circa 1910

A Bouquet of Flowers or a Handful of Candy Canes are All this Silver Cup Needs!
This lovely child's cup is engraved with a picture of a king having a very bad day. There is a cute little song around the top - le bon roi dagobert avait sa culotte a l'envers. When I asked Google to translate it to English, well... The good king Dagobert had his panties upside down. I wonder if this is where the saying don't get your panties in a bunch comes from?
The cup has stamps on the bottom but I don't recognize them. Please note we bought this at the Paris Flea and not from one of our trusted sources.
A Lovely Gift for A New Addition to Your Family
This lovely set is one that will be treasured for generations. The cup has a slightly fluted top with a simple ring handle. The simple ring design continues around the bottom of the cup. The accompanying spoon has a simple design on the handle. Both sit neatly in the pale blue keepsake box.
The cup and spoon both have stamps on them but I don't recognize them. Please note we bought this at the Paris Flea and not from one of our trusted sources.
